Tuning slide too loose and can fall out.
I noticed a similar comment about the YT2335 with regard to the loose tuning slide, so this could be a common problem with lower end Yamahas.
The trumpet is light and feels small to me. I think it is quite easy to play. I didn't like the mouthpiece that came with it - it felt too small. I changed to a Bach 3C and now get a much better tone - particularly on the lower register.
The only difference between this an the more expensive YT2335 is that it doesn't have a 3rd valve spit valve or a 1st valve thumb hook. It's easy to bend notes so I don't miss the 1st valve slide.
I don't have much experience with other horns, but overall I think it is a good beginner trumpet and it is certainly better quality than the no name brand I played before I got it.

A good student horn.
Compared to the YT2335 it plays more out of tune and it is harder to to play in the high register, but this YT1335 has better projection. I agree with the author above, mouthpiece included (Yamaha 11B4) does not fit the horn, it is too small.

bad valves, cheap construction, intonation on the low register
This was my first trumpet and was ok to start out with..not too bad for a student model. I had some problems with their poor valves and some intonation problems, but otherwise ok. Should definitely replace the mouthpiece with something bigger. Yamahas are more expensive than they're worth, so I'd go for other brands if I were looking for a student instrument..they're mostly of similar quality.
