Pros: Great for large bore!
Cons: takes a day for full effect.

I used to use slide-o-mix but my large bore bones used to eat the stuff up. Trombotine will last for a couple of weeks and is as smooth as slide-o-mix. Works well immediately but takes a day, or hot weather, to take full effect.

Pros: Works great does not go away to quickly
Cons:

Trombotine works great especially if you are busy enough that you can only apply it once in a while. Works well on more beat up instruments that have dents in the slide as well.

Pros: Lasts forever
Cons: none

Whenever I apply trombotine, I find that it works best if I apply an amount equal to half the size of my fingernail to each stocking, at the end. Then before I put the outer stockings back on, I spray a plentiful amount of water on the rest of the slide (you really cannot be too generous with the water). After that I work the slide thoroughly. This helps to make sure you get the best performance from the trombotine as soon as it's applied.
