Description:
The Slide-O-Mix products were developed to offer exceptional lubrication for trombone hand slides. They offer a heavy and a light slide lubricant, one for regular slides and a lighter kit for newer, tighter slides. Slide-O-Mix lubricants will give your trombone a quick, smooth and flawless response. Extra individual bottles of it are available separately. Once you begin using this product, you may have to invent some new excuses for not quite getting that wild lick in the performance.

Pros: Great for small bore
Cons: Not so great for large bore

Works great on my small and medium bore horns. My large bore intruments take a lot and go through it quickly. It would be one thing if this stuff were cheaper. If have a small bore, use this on it.

Pros: effectiveness
Cons: price, frequency of application

I've tried several lubricants, and this is the best--no reason to use anything else. Even with some small dings in the slide it moves freely with Slide-o-mix. This made my slide faster than lightning, but don't mix it with trombotine as that makes slide super glue.

Pros: Its a Slide Lube, and better than nothing at all!!!
Cons: Has a tendency to crystalize on the inside of the outer slide tubes, and is really, really hard to clean out of your slide after using it for a while.

This is a product that may work well for you, but has given me too many headaches. It has a tendency to crystallize when the horn dries out, and is hard to clean out after using it for a while. If you choose to use it, then clean the slide extremely well before first applying. Also, this "high tech" lube is expensive. May work for you, may not. Worth trying SOM at least once to decide. Personally, I'm sticking to good ol' slide cream.

Pros: amazing smooth reaction
Cons: frequent spraying

This mix is absolutely amazing! Reviewing on mixes is hard because I found that every slide is different. Some need only cream and water, other need cream, oil and water, some only oil (which is bad), etc.

My older trombone, an Olds Opera 023, has this on its slide and it is fabulous. The only way to prevent some crystallization that people have mentioned, is to spray distilled water on it before you play every time. (assuming that you play every day)
