Pros: Free blowing, big symphonic sound, fabulous valves
Cons:

Denis Wedgwood is a one of a kind artisan. His cornets and trumpets are superb. Every last piece is hand made by Denis including the valves. Final plating and finishing are also done by Denis.

The trumpet has a large symphonic sound which can be easily controlled. The instrument has an interchangeable bell so you can change the sound by swapping over to a lighter bell. This allows you to change your tone for that jazz or big band setting. An adaptable, well made instrument.

Pros: Everything about the Wedgwood is positive.
Cons: There are no negatives about any instrument made by Denis Wedgwood.

I have been playing my second Wedgwood cornet for just over 5 years now having had Denis make me one in 1982 and then 2002. They are absolutely superb instruments with every attention to deal. Denis's own invention of producing valves that do not have bumps in the ports give a much freer flow of air and his Saturn water keys are superb. Not only does the Wedgwood cornet stay in tune with itself it has a beautifully lyrical sweet tone that is a match for any other cornet on the market. I would heartily recommend any serious cornet player to try a Wedgwood before spending the same amount of money on an off-the-shelf product.

Regards
Paul
